The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese hold their annual conference every year at a unique spot in the Americas. This year it just happened to be in Denver, Colorado.

I was fortunate enough to present to colleagues, and I also actively attempted to bribe people to come to my presentation with three Tortuga Caribbean Rum Cakes. I think it worked.

The title of my presentation was “How to Engage Students in the World Language Classroom”. I presented four websites that pull in students into the learning process of a world language. Those four websites were EduCanon, LyricsTraining, Zachary-Jones, and 360cities. Each site engages students through music, video, pop culture, or stunning photos from around the world.

Feel free to take a look at the actual presentation that is attached.

If you have any questions about it or would like me to talk your world language department, don’t hesitate to contact me at jwhit003@gmail.com or via twitter at Tulsatrot.
