Travels in Malaysia French Dinner

Who Enjoyed Dinner the Most? Probably Not the French Postal Worker

Just Your Normal Sick Day

My Annie B stayed home today from school. Come to find out at the doctor’s office she had ear infections in both ears. Double whammy. Maybe that’s why she hasn’t listened to me for the last four years.

Back at home that afternoon, we sat next to the bay window overlooking street drenched in sun, but covered by cold.

We played UNO.

Midway through our second game, the mail truck stopped at the top of the street. Immediately Annie sat up straight. She walked to the window and said, “Oh, he’s cute!” The mail carrier shuffled along looking at his bag of credit card offers and supermarket ads.

“Huh, what?!?!”

Just to clarify she continued.

“He’s handsome.” As the bundled up mail carrier with a beard reaching down to his chest walked to the next house.

“You’re handsome too Dad . . . But he’s more handsome.”

That was the necessary boost of confidence I needed.

At that point, she put our game on hold as she watched this postman walk all the way down and then back up the street.

Hmmm, where to start with my concerns?

My girl is four years old making this comment now, what is she going to say in ten more years?

A guy with a big, bushy beard down to his chest?

I best start checking the all girl schools in the area.
